Master Mgmt - Take-Off Items
Take-off items are the specific “sticks and bricks” that will be needed to build the house. An example of “sticks and bricks” would be the number of 2x4’s, bricks, wall plugs and etc. that will be needed to build the house. If a cost code is marked as a “take-off cost code”, take-off items may be associated with the cost code. Take-off items are associated with both a cost code and plans/elevations and may also be associated with an. They also need to have a unit of measure and quantity that can vary from one plan/elevation to another. As an example, take-off item LUM77683WP (a 2”x4”x8’ white pine) can be set up with a unit of measure of each (ea) and tied to cost code 52140 – Lumber. However, the quantity for the item can vary from one plan/elevation to another (i.e. one story versus two stories).
In BidConnect, the first step is to set up each take-off item and specify the Unit of Measure (UOM), map it to a cost code, and then map it to the plans/elevation adding a quantity for the item at that level. The bidder (in SupplyPro) then only needs to specify a unit cost for the take-off item and the bid analysis section will calculate the cost based on the quantity for the item for a given plan/elevation times the unit cost submitted by the bidder.
Take-off items can also be associated with an Option. As with the association with plans/elevations, a quantity for the take item must be specified for each option. They will also be available to a bidder when they are using the Take-off tool.
This page allows the builder to manage the Take-off Items. It will facilitate creating a master list of Take-off Items. When a project is created, the master list of take-off items will be copied to the project.
