K.B. Management Division > Position
A position represents the position of the defect (e.g., North Wall, 303). The application supports the ability to use a defect number (numeric designation) in place of using the position for a defect. Add or remove division positions on the Division Position page. At the division level, the Position page represents the ”master list” of positions for the entire division. All positions that are available for use by divisions are managed at the corporate level.
This page is organized into two scrollable lists. The list on the left contains the Division Positions, and the list on the right contains the Corporate Positions. The Corporate Positions list contains the corporate positions that have not been selected by the division but are available to be selected by the division user.
Depending on the community, either Position or Defect # will be used to describe the defect. Communities that use Defect Numbers are not concerned with the specific positioning of a defect. They look for defect numbers written throughout the home, which act as positions. For BuildPro to determine if a community is using Positions or Defect Numbers, an admin user must go to the Organization Detail page - Manager tab. At each community level, the admin user must mark whether that community is using Positions or a Defect Numbers. The default for this indicator is ’Position,’ as this is more common. Appropriate users can change this indicator as needed.
