K.B. Management Division > Template/Locations
Use the Division Template/Locations page to tie locations to a template. This is necessary because different templates may contain different locations (rooms), so you do not want the user to choose a location for a job that does not actually have that location. On the Add Defect page, the user chooses a Job and Task, and then the program populates the Location drop-down list with the locations that are tied to that template. For example, Template 1 may include a Basement, while Template 2 does not. So, you tie the location Basement to Template 1, so that Basement appears as an option in the Location drop-down list for Template 1 but not Template 2.
All locations that are available for use by divisions are managed at the corporate level. The page is organized into two scrollable lists, with the list of included locations for a template on the left and the list of excluded locations on the right.
To manage division Template/locations:
On the K.B. Division page, click the Template/Locations button. Or, click the Template/Locations link on the Left Nav Bar of any K.B. page. The Division Template/Locations page opens.
Choose a Division from the drop-down list.
Choose a Template from the drop-down list. Two boxes appear on the page: Included Location and Excluded Location.
To include a location, click on a Location in the Excluded Locations box.
To add multiple locations, hold down the Ctrl key while selecting the locations.
Click the <<Add button beneath the box. The excluded location appears in the Included Location box.
To exclude a location, click on a Location in the Included Locations box.
To remove multiple locations, hold down the Ctrl key while selecting the locations.
Click the Remove>> button beneath the box.
