Stage Sequence Change (Predecessor)

The Stage Sequence Change page is used to modify the Sequence number assigned to each stage in the template.

To modify the stage sequence number:

  1. Change the number in the Sequence column next to the Stage Name you would like to modify. Click the Apply to Jobs check box if you want to apply the changes to active jobs created from this template.

  2. Click the Update Stage Sequences button.

If you selected the Apply to Jobs check box a popup window will appear to guide you through the process of applying the changes to active jobs. Choose whether to apply to All Active and Hold Jobs or Select Jobs from a list. The updates to stage sequences will be applied to the jobs you have chosen. Changes will be applied to all corresponding stages in the job.

The Sequence number has a couple different uses. When two tasks have the same start date, the task with the lower sequence will be displayed first. If sequence is the same, they will be displayed alphabetically. The other use is for integration. If a task is inserted in a job and that task's predecessor is not found in the job, integration will look for the task with the next lower sequence number and use that task as the parent.
