Project Bid Take-Off Tool

Learn about the Project Bid page

When the user (bidder) clicks on a drawing name on the pop-up window from the Project Bid page, a drawing viewer with take-off capabilities is launched.

In addition being able to zoom and pan a drawing, the document view / take-off tool has buttons that:

Measure - Allows the user to click multiple points on the drawing and capture the distance between the points. Holding down the left mouse button while dragging across an area will allow the user to highlight an area and capture the square feet of that area. The tool also supports “snap to” for clicking near a point (e.g., a corner) and the tool will adjust to that point. Thus square feet for irregular shaped areas can be captured.

Count - Allows the user to click on multiple points on the drawing and capture the number of times an item occurs on the drawing (i.e. switches, TV or phone, jacks, etc.)

Print - Allows the user to print the drawing. Additional options for printing are available.

Measurement Take Offs

A Measurement Take Offs section is presented beneath the drawing. This area records the users' measurements and counts so that they can be exported to Excel. There are drop down lists for the Area (Take-off Area) and Description (Take-off Items).

The list of areas which can be selected under from the drop down list of areas under the Area column is populated from the Take-off Area entries that were set up in BuildPro.

The list of items on which can be selected under from the drop down list of items under the Description column is populated from the Take-off Items entries that were set up in BuildPro and filtered by the cost code the bidder is bidding on.

Export Takeoffs to Excel

When the user clicks on the Export Takeoffs to Excel button the information from the table that was built on this page is exported to Excel so the user can enter their unit prices and calculate their bid.

Once the spreadsheet is completed, the user will enter their bid (see the SupplyPro BidConnect Project Bid Page) and upload the spreadsheet as supporting documentation for their bid (see SupplyPro BidConnect Project Bid Supporting Documents Page).
