With multi-family job scheduling, you can group jobs and manage schedules
by allowing selected master tasks to be handled as one task while others
can be handled independently.
First, the template
must be flagged as a Multi-Family template.
From the template detail page, select the Group
Tasks as Master Task checkbox and click the Update
button. Once a template is flagged as a multi-family template,
it should only be used to create multi-family jobs.
Then, from the Template Actions page, click the Master Task link, located under 8. Task Update. This link will only
appear for templates marked as a multi-family template.
For each task, select
whether or not the task is a master task. The default is set to No. This completes the template part
of the multi-family set up.
Now the job and PO
files must be sent from the accounting system. Or, if your BuildPro is
non-integrated, go to the Jobs tab and add a new job. For integrated companies,
jobs that are created from a multi-family template will automatically
be placed on hold status. This is to allow the job administrator to add
buildings and assign the jobs to the correct building before the job schedule
is managed.
To add buildings, click
the Job Admin tab, then click
the Add a Building link, located
on the left nav bar. From the Add Building page, select the subdivision/phase
in which to add the building. Enter a building name in the Description
field. Select the jobs to add to the building by clicking the corresponding
check box at the end of the job row and click the Add Building button.
Once jobs are added to a building, the status is changed to Active.
To manage these multi-family
jobs, go to the Jobs tab and click
the Multi-Family Mgmt. link on
the left nav.
