Template Management
Template Detail

The Template Detail page shows general information about an existing template or a template you just created. All fields can be updated except for the Multi-Family indicator, Organization, and the Accounting Set. A template belongs to an organization. Once a template has been created in a particular organization, it cannot be moved to another Organization. However, you can copy the template from one organization to another by using the Add a New Template link on the left nav.

A template points to a specific Account Set which contains cost codes for accounting purposes. When you add a new template, the new template will point to the same Account Set. New Account Sets must be set up by Hyphen Solutions Customer Care.

If you no longer want to use the template, choose Closed from the Status drop-down list. You can view templates in Closed status, but you must change the status back to Active if you want them to appear on the Templates List page.

If any of the fields mentioned in the steps below do not appear on your screen, that means that your organization is not using that feature of BuildPro. For any questions about this feature, contact your BuildPro administrator.

To change a template:

  1. If necessary, change the Template Name field.

  2. Multi-Family Template will indicate if the template is a multi-family (old or new) or single family template.

  3. To assign a different scheduling type, click the Schedule Type field and make the appropriate selection.

Changing the type of scheduling does not affect previous jobs, but would apply to all new jobs using the template. It is not recommend to change the Schedule Type on a template where jobs have been created. BuildPro uses the scheduling information in the template in some cases and if this information has changed, the job could be affected.

  1. If available, complete the Template Number field. This number is used for integrated companies and must match the number coming from the accounting system in order to create a job using the template.

  2. Clicking the check box for SWIM Template designates the template to be used as a template for SWIM Inspection jobs.

  3. If necessary, change the Elevation field.

  4. In the EPO Authority Amount field type the dollar amount of approval authority for the organization.

  5. Click the Warning button to determine if the user gets a warning when going over the limit of an EPO. If checked, the user only gets a warning and the EPO is sent to the vendor without approval.

  6. Click the Locked button if the EPO will not be sent  to the vendor without approval.

  7. In the MPO Authority Amount field type the dollar amount of approval authority for the organization for a Measurement PO.

  8. In the MPO Authority Percent field, type the percentage of approval allowed for an MPO.

  9. In the Floors field, type the appropriate number of floors for this template.

  10. In the Bedrooms field, type the appropriate number of bedrooms for this template.

  11. In the Sq Ft Total field, type the total number of square feet.

  12. In the Sq Ft A/C field, type the total number of air-conditioned square footage.

  13. Choose a Task Category Group from the drop-down list. If the template is assigned to a multi-family project, the Task Category Group can only be changed from the Project Detail page.

  14. Click the Status field and make the appropriate selection.

  15. Click the Under Construction check box to set the template status to Under Construction. This puts the template edit check on hold until the user finishes making changes and runs the edit check.

  16. Type any relevant notes in the Notes/Instructions field.

  17. Click Update Template Information.
