Job Management
Multi-Family JME - Predecessor View
This view displays each task in the job schedule and allows the construction manger to modify predecessor relationships (within the job and from other jobs). Other scheduling attributes such as Sequence, Lead Time, Duration, and Offset may also be updated.
If you selected “All Jobs” from the Job filter from the Schedule View page, you will need to select a specific Job and click the Show Tasks button. If you selected a specific Job from the Schedule View page, the Predecessor View page will automatically generate based on the selected Job.
Only tasks in Scheduled status may be modified from the Predecessor View page.
Following is a list of filters at the top of the page:
Project - List of all Projects in the Division.
Building - Displays a list of Buildings within the selected Project.
Floor - Contains a list of Floors within the selected Building.
Job - List of jobs for the selected Floor.
Task Status - Contains a list of task statuses including Scheduled & In Progress (default), Cancelled, Complete, In Progress, Scheduled, and Skipped.
Click the Show Tasks button to display the page.
Use the Schedule View link to go back to the Multi-Family JME Schedule View page.
Following is a list that describes the information found on this page:
Task Status - Displays an icon next to each task that represents the task status. See list of Task Statuses below.
Task - Displays the name of the task that requires action. Click the Task Name link to open the Task Detail page. The task type is represented by a letter after the task name and stage name in parenthesis. See list of Task Types below.
Supplier Name - supplier assigned to the task.
ID - Internal id of the task.
Predecessors (This Job) - Predecessors of the task from within the selected job. Enter the ID of the task you wish to be the parent task. Separate each parent ID, by a comma. In order to modify a predecessor, you must select "All Task Status" from the Task Status filter.
Predecessors (Other Jobs) - Job Name and Task Name of predecessors from other jobs within the building. Click the Select hyperlink to assign parent tasks/predecessors from other jobs.
Adj Start/End - Displays the adjusted start and end date of the task.
BL Start/End - Baseline start and end dates for the task.
Seq - Sequence number of the task used for display purposes and assigning predecessors when a parent task is missing.
Lead Time - Number of days between the lead date and the start date.
Duration - How many days the task spans.
Offset - The number of construction days between the start date of the task and the end date of its predecessor.
Make sure "All Task Status" is selected from the Task Status filter. Enter each ID number of the task you want to be the parent task. Separate each by a comma.
Click the Update Job button.
Click the Select link in the column titled Predecessors (Other Jobs). A popup window will open. You can only modify predecessors from other jobs when the task is in Scheduled status.
Using the Job drop down box, select the job that contains the parent task(s) you wish to assign. The list of tasks will appear.
Check the box beside each task you wish to assign as a parent.
Click the Update Predecessors button. The popup window will remain open to allow you to pick predecessors from other jobs. If you are done, click the Close button.
When a task has more than one predecessor, its start date will follow the latest end date of all parent tasks.
Modify the Seq, Lead Time, Duration, or Offset.
The Predecessor View of the Multi-Family JME page contains several “edit checks” to evaluate
predecessor relationships before the data is saved in BuildPro.
To modify predecessor relationships within the job choose “All Task Status” from
the Task Status filter. By showing all tasks, this allows the page to edit check based on all
tasks in the job.
Task ID not found or duplicate found. This error will appear when a task ID is entered as a parent and that ID is not found in the job or when the same task ID is entered twice in the predecessor text box. The task in error will contain a red ^ symbol below the predecessor text box.
At least one task in the schedule must have no predecessors. This error will appear when all tasks in the job have a parent task. You must have at least one task with the predecessor text box empty. This will help ensure you do not create a loop in the schedule. In this case all tasks will contain a red ~ symbol below the predecessor text box.
A task cannot be part of its predecessor list. This error will appear when a task’s ID is entered as its parent. A red § symbol will appear.
Whole numbers must be entered for Sequence, Lead Time, Duration, and Offset. A red # symbol will be placed next to Fractional numbers (e.g. 1.5).
Duration must be greater than 0. A red @ symbol will be placed next to a duration less than one.
