Template Management

Schedule Management (Graphical View)

The Schedule Management Graphical View shows each task in the selected template along with the task type (in parenthesis next to the task name), each task’s Stage name, ID, Predecessors, Start/End dates, Seq (sequence) and a graphical view of the length of each task.

Three links appear at the top of this page:

  1. Graphical View - Use this page to update predecessors and sequence numbers.

  2. Advanced View - Similar to the Graphical View, but also allows the user to update lead times, durations, and offsets.

  3. Link Reminders and Memos to POs - This functionality is for integrated companies only. It allows the user to link reminders and memo tasks to a PO task. The linked reminders and memos will only be inserted into the Job schedule if the PO task is added.

To use Schedule Management:

  1. If needed, click the Stage field and select a different stage.

  2. To change predecessor relationships in the template, type the ID of the parent task in the Predecessor text box next to the child task. Multiple predecessors may be entered. Separate each by a comma.

  3. To change the sequence number of the task, type in the number in the Seq text box.

  4. Click a Task link to view the Task Detail page (make sure to save your changes first).

The Sequence number has a couple different uses. When two tasks have the same start date, the task with the lower sequence will be displayed first. If sequence is the same, they will be displayed alphabetically. The other use is for integration. If a task is inserted in a Job and that task's predecessor is not found in the Job, integration will look for the task with the next lower sequence number and use that task as the parent.

The left navigation pane shows the Duration, the number of Construction Days and the End Date of a job that would use this template (if the job started today). The Work Saturday and Work Sunday indicators at the top of the page are used in this calculation.

The Task Type designation is in parenthesis, next to each task name link. To see a legend of all task types, scroll down to the bottom of your screen.

If you accessed this page from the link in the Apply Template Changes section of the Template Actions page, you will see a link to Apply to Jobs. If you click this link a pop up window will appear to allow you to choose the schedule change you would like to apply to active Jobs. You may choose one or all attributes. Click the Update button. The link will change from 'Select' to 'Update' to let you know which tasks you have chosen to update.

After clicking the Update Template Schedule Button, the page will refresh and a popup window appear to guide you through the process of applying the changes to active Jobs. Choose whether to apply to All Active and Hold Jobs or Select Jobs from a list. The updates will be applied to the Jobs you have chosen. Changes will only be applied to the corresponding task if the task is in Scheduled status.
