Template Management

Schedule Management (Advanced View)

The Schedule Management (Advanced View) page gives the user the ability to tweak the template schedule. The Calculation Parameters section displays the Start Date (always based on today's date), Work Saturday and Work Sunday indicators (indicators are based on the user settings found on the Your Profile page). The Start and End dates are based on the earliest start date and latest end date of any task in that stage.

Three links appear at the top of this page:

  1. Graphical View - Use this page to update predecessors and sequence numbers.

  2. Advanced View - Similar to the Graphical View, but also allows the user to update lead times, durations, and offsets.

  3. Link Reminders and Memos to POs - This functionality is for integrated companies only. It allows the user to link reminders and memo tasks to a PO task. The linked reminders and memos will only be inserted into the job schedule if the PO task is added.

Users may modify Predecessors by typing the ID of the parent task in the Predecessors text box next to the child task. Multiple predecessors may be entered. Separate each by a comma.

Other scheduling attributes may be modified by changing the number in the text box under the appropriate column:

  • Sequence - The Sequence number has a couple different uses. When two tasks have the same start date, the task with the lower sequence will be displayed first. If sequence is the same, they will be displayed alphabetically. The other use is for integration. If a task is inserted in a job and that task's predecessor is not found in the job, integration will look for the task with the next lower sequence number and use that task as the parent.

  • Lead Time - The number of days notification before the task will start that the supplier or trade requires in order to deliver materials or begin work.

  • Duration - Number of days the task requires to perform.

  • Offset - Number of days a task will start from its original start date. Negative offset will move the start date earlier and positive offset will move it later.

  • Req - Indicates the task is required in the job schedule. For integrated jobs, a task flagged as required will be inserted into the job even if a PO is not received from the accounting system. The task will be inserted as a "placeholder" and cannot be started until the accounting system sends the PO details.

Click the Update Template Schedule button to save your changes.

Clicking the Re-Sequence Tasks button will overwrite the numbers in the Seq column. Tasks will be re-sequenced according to the Start date. The task(s) with the earliest Start date will be assigned a sequence of 5. Task(s) on the next Start date will be assigned a 10. This will continue with the remaining tasks in the template.
