About Task View
Task View is one of the two ways to view Phase Management (Box Schedule is the other). In Task View, you can view tasks from multiple jobs at the same time. Task View lists the job names vertically down the page, while Box Schedule lists the job names horizontally across the page. In both these views, there is no Left Nav Bar to allow more viewing space.
The Task View operates similarly to Job Management Express (JME). By clicking on a task or supplier, you will be taken to a detail page and you can start and complete one task or multiple tasks simultaneously, just as in JME. If you click on a job, it will take you to JME. The difference with Task View is that it allows you to view and update tasks from multiple jobs at the same time. So, you can choose to start 12 tasks from 5 different jobs at the same time.
Task View also has a few features that are not available in Box Schedule. You can start one task, multiple tasks, or all tasks by using a select-all check box at the top of the Start and Comp columns. Also, if you need change a task's duration, change the date box in the End Date. The system will automatically calculate duration based on the difference between the Start and End dates. Task View also has a Sticky Date feature, which allows users to quickly change Start and End Dates with a single click.
